My Story
I got into massage therapy 11 years ago due to the fact that I had been diagnosed when I was 10 years old with idiopathic dystonia. Idiopathic dystonia caused my lower back to show signs of disc degeneration and compression and deterioration of my spinal column in the lumbar section.
My Mission
Since I was 14 years old I have seen numerous massage therapist, acupuncturist, and chiropractors to help maintain my stability and functional health. In receiving these treatments I noticed how much more of life I could live and enjoy through the true relief of pain and strain on my body.
Trained In...
Jessica was trained in York, Pa at a Steiner Education facility: Baltimore School of Massage (2010-2011), then transferred to a sister school here in Bradenton, FL: Florida College of Natural Health (2011-2012). Following graduation, Jessica became Nationally Board Certified by the NBCTMB, and also received her Florida LMT (720 + hrs), and Florida Aesthetics License (300 +hrs).

If you haven’t had a massage from Jess at Absolute Tranquility, then you have not had a massage. She is able to really get in there and take care of knots and issues that arise from daily habits such as driving or sleeping wrong. I leave each massage feeling extremely relaxed and well balanced.

Without a doubt the best quality for your dollar. I am a repeat customer. Waxing is fast, painless, and perfect. Facials leave your skin feeling amazing! The best deep tissue massage you will ever experience! Don't look any further for your new massage therapist. Jessica is the best!

I was set to have surgery. Thanks to going to see Jessica, I felt the pain subside and with a few consecutive visits no surgery will be needed. She has the perfect touch.

My first experience with Jessica was phenomenal. She used the right amount of pressure and made me feel like a million bucks after my massage.
Frequently Asked Questions
Massage therapy relaxes muscle tissue, which reduces painful contractions and spasms. Massage can also reduce nerve compression. To understand this, consider that when muscles are contracted, they sometimes compress the nerves around them.
Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a Swedish massage. It's a good option if you have chronic muscle problems, such as soreness, injury, or imbalance. It can help relieve tight muscles, chronic muscle pain, and anxiety.
It feels great not only because the pain is triggering a release of endorphins, but also because circulation is increasing and inflammation from the knot is being released. This is why some back and shoulder massages can “hurt so good”!
It's normal to feel sore after a massage. The technique carries blood and nutrients to your muscles while eliminating toxins. After stimulating muscles that you may not usually use, you might experience delayed onset muscle soreness. This is a physical response to the inflammation as your body heals.
Use some moist heat if advised by the therapist. This can help with chronic aches and reduce fascia tension, helping the body re-educate itself. Use cold or cool compresses on sore areas. The use of ice is beneficial in the reduction of pain and inflammation. (No more the 15 mins of Ice at one time)
Actually, you can get massaged too frequently. Once a week is the most you should go unless you are dealing with pain or high-intensity sports. Between you and your therapist, you'll be able to determine the best frequency because your body's response is a large part of this determination.
The foot has 7000 nerve endings and every nerve ending is meant to detect pain stimulus. Any compression, even the smallest one, impacts around 500 nerves. Compression of nerves is perceived as pain in the brain so, during the therapy process, it is common for people to feel the pain.
Generally, yes. Massage therapy during pregnancy has been shown to provide many benefits, including a sense of wellness, improved relaxation, and better sleep. But certain techniques and trigger points in the body can cause contractions and premature labor, so seeking expertise is vital.
